O'Brien Burial at Fort Snelling

On June 27, 2008, the US Department of Defense issued a statement entitled Soldier Missing In Action From The Korean War Is Identified. The remains of Jim O'Brien had been in our possession for ten years, but DNA testing just recently ID'd them. So, 58 years after his death, O'Brien was buried today at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Local Korean War veterans assembled for the O'Brien burial.

Wayne Pickett, American Hero

Korea vet Wayne Pickett attended the O'Brien burial today. Pickett was held as a POW for 999 days beginning in 1950. 'Twas no picnic: "Lice was a problem early on in the camp, but was mostly solved when the prisoners were sprayed with DDT." Read Wayne's amazing story here.
